It looks like a great shot to me there is no way she didn't hit a lung likely both.  That deer is down somewhere.

Looks like a great shot.  Only thing that could possibly make it bad would be a quartering towards shot.

That deer is dead.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

It's back a bit.  Don't think the deer would survive the shot either.  Probably bedded and died not to far away from the shot.  It would be worth another look for the deer after seeing that placement.

What was the angle??? That is all that matters about what vitals were hit... But I'm betting no matter the angle even from a severe frontal shot missing the lung that deer is dead... It would still slice the diaphragm and be over pretty quick...

Assuming a straight broadside shot I agree, liver shot.  I'd say it just missed the lungs, but that's not a survivable shot.  Hope it is found before it's too late.

Mt wife hit hers in the exact same spot. No lungs, liver hit. Took me a long time to find it. Lost blood and got lucky doing a grid search. It sucks, but it happens :sry:. Keep looking and don't get discouraged.
