Any advice would be appreciated
« on: September 11, 2013, 01:04:25 PM »
My buddy and I are hunting the Nile. In the 4 days we have been here we have cow called in 3 elk. They have been stopping about 50-60 yards away from us. Two of them have come in and we can hear them stomping and breaking twigs. The one we called in this morning was raking trees just below us. We just can't close that gap. We are not hearing any bugling. Any tips would be appreciated.

They  stopping 50-60 yards away from the caller or the shooter?  You guys need to have some distance between you, sounds like.

Can the caller set up about 50-60 yards behind the shooter?  Or have you tried that already.

When they stop, you should start stomping around, breaking branches...or pick up a large stick and start smacking nearby trees with it.  As you're doing all of this, slowly close the distance.

Of course, if they are able to see you, none of this will probably work...

Good advice there.  Next best advice is to keep at it.
