Black Lab Male,5 years old with papers
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:44:41 PM »
A lady freind of mine works with a rescue agency,She called me yesterday with some limited info on a Black Lab male,5 years old with papers. The current owners have to get rid of him because they are done using him as a breeder and need to make room for a litter of pups to be whelped on tuesday( which TICKS ME AND HER off because it's a lame reason). At anyrate she is going to pick the dog up from the people, who supposedly have raised this dog from a pup with their 5 small children).I have no idea what is on the papers, nor do we have any info on if the dog has been hunted or trained for field work.Thought I would just pass this on.PM me for a contact name and number for the rescue gal.I will post some more info on the dog when I hear more. This is in the Bellingham area.

Some people have absolutely no regard for animals or their well being. At 5 that dog is so set in his ways and attached to the people he grew up with that he will struggle for quite a while wherever he goes. Terrible. At least they are giving him up and not just taking him out behind the barn if you know what I mean.   :bash:
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

That's really crappy.

If you get more info, let me know. Sometimes the breeders with take them back and rehome them (the breeder of the adult male not the folks that own him now).

I believe she is picking him up tomorrow I will know more soon,I plan on going over to look at the papers and the dog, As to being set in ways and what not, dogs can switch gears to a new owner pretty quick,Many years ago I got a springer back I'd sold as an 8 week old pup,he was 5 years old and it was a divorce deal where apartments were the living arrangement after the outcome,The dog didn't skip a beat and became my truck dog/work dog.I have a dog right now I got when she was 6,she has a few quirks but adapted fairly well too.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.
