Finally got time off work to go hunting, left yesterday morning in time to make it out for first light. The fog was so thick had maybe 5 yards of visibility. I heard some stomping around behind me so I turned to see a doe standing perfect for a broadside side shot; lucky me my release is in my pack. I squat down to dig into my pack and grab it, at no point did she move. Instead her traveling companions come over the ridge on the other side of me. Another doe spooks and runs into me knocked me off my feet and hers, she got to flailing and bucking. Got kicked in the ribs and I'm sore all over. Don't know if I'll have time this month after I heal up, so I might focus my attention towards late season.
Man those deer had some skills. Next time sweep the leg!
