Ok so here's how it went down we parked the truck at quarter to seven. Lance went to the left and I took Drew to the right. Me and Drew got 80 yards from the pickup and we heard the sound of deer running through the leaves, we heard a buck grunting but it was too dark to see anything as we stood there waiting for it to get light enough to see, the deer had already gone. So we kept walking up the road another 100 yards and we heard three shots coming from the same direction Lance had gone. He gave me a call and said he had a buck down! He told me he was walking around a corner and spotted the wide buck, head down walking away down the middle of the logging road. First shot was bad, had to run him down for 200 yards through the reprod and put two more in him to finish him off. By the time we got him loaded up, my phone rang and Drew had shot the narrow one. His buck jumped out in the road in front of him and one shot with a 25/06 dropped him in his tracks. Not much of a hunt, but it works. Two deer a quarter mile apart, same property, taken in Skagit County.
