Muleys rutting yet?
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:02:19 PM »
Wish I was back home right now!  Just curious if anybody has been seeing any rutting activity?  Mainly the Chelan CO units and if the migration has been started yet or not...  Thanks I'm hoping to get back and seen some nice bucks around thanksgiving!

They should be rutting pretty good for the late whitetail hunt.  They were last year anyways, but as we have all seen, this year is a strange one.

Hey mike, went out today a little bit later than i was hoping, saw a lot of sign, and a lot of deer.  Looks like some migrators have been coming through.  As for the rutting activity looks to be pretty early for that still, i saw a couple spots when out hiking were a couple bucks had been scraping so that is looking pretty promising but a lot of the bucks were still alone, and not very many doe had bucks tending with them.  Its really dry out there too, not very much precip lately not even in the high elevations around here.  hopefully by this weekend we will get a little weather.  BTW i still didnt find my knife!   :bash: But now somebody has a really sharp really nice Buck knife

Thanks for the update Josh!  Really glad I haven't been missing much!  I'll be back during Thanksgiving break and can't wait to get out there!  How high up were you?  I'm guessing you were down lower?  Thats interesting about the precip, you'd think by now the highcountry would have quite a bit of snow... atleast way up high but I guess not.  Its been pretty cold there lately though right?

I just saw the biggest, Ruttinest, Muley I have ever seen before in my life last night.  It was dark and i didnt have my camera.

30+ inches wide, and 26+ inches high.  Lots of stickers.  hopefully i will get a picture of it sometime soon, when i get off work i am gonna go put the stalk on him!

Dude, you need to do that!  I'll see if I can't dig up a picture of a buck that was up the entiat last year that my buddy photo'd... sounds like the same buck...
