I just got my 5000 about a month ago. I like it cuz u can adjust the torso to you, very comfy padding. Been hauling 65lbs last few weeks an cant notice it. Only thing i dont like is the area where you put a water bladder in, theres nothing to hook/hang it on too or a zipper to keep it in place so my suggestion is to use water bottles instead. In a couple weeks ill be goin out in the field to give this guy a test run.

I have a Tenzing 2220, and it IS the best pack I have ever had.And I have had alot. Biggest thing i love about it is the room and the way it rides on me. I can still have my side arm on me and slide the hip belt in behind it and it works great. Downside to it is I think my buddy timberghost72 wants it?

I'm taller 6 ft 1 and was told anybody over 6 ft needs the tz6000 so after approval from the wife it's ordered. Will let you know what I think when I get it.

I have the 5000....love it. It fits me good at 5'10' but like another guys said if you were over 6ft tall I'd go with the 6000 as the waist bucklet would probably creep up too high if your over 6ft tall. The only knock I have is that I don't think an elk quarter will fit in the meat compartment (too wide if left on the bone) but then again I haven't had a change to try that yet. I have packed out a full mule deer a few miles deep (boned out_ and it was a great pack). I'd recommend it for sure.

I should have clarified more. The weekend trips are for scouting but I'm using them to test my pack and get in shape. Actual hunts are min 4 days.

well this is what i think of my tenzing tz6000 after 2 hrs of hiking 45lbs weight (fully loaded no gun but salt blocks) and about 5 miles of up and down hill nothing to steep. i hiked the hole way in without stopping checked my camera and hiked all the way out without stopping. the pack was extremely comforatable, didnt make any noises, loosen straps or bounce around. it offers alot of options in one package without having to purchase extras and saves on the wallet shrinkage. i am extremely pleased with my purchase and cant wait for hunting season to pack out some meat with it and see how it does then.

well with throwing in a bunch of extra weight last minute total pack weight was 50 lbs. the pack handled extremely well. really impressed. only issue is that one zipper broke a single tooth, good thing it had another head on the other end.
probably about 10 miles of high country hiking back was extremely comfy. couldnt tell it was 50 lbs.
great back extremely impressed
