Puyallup Fair
« on: August 28, 2013, 12:52:51 PM »
WSTA has a booth at the Puyallup Fair in the Northwest Outdoors building. Fair runs Sept.6th to the 22nd.
I am in need of volunteers to work the booth. I have tickets and parking passes for anyone willing to help out. It really is a pretty good time talking to people and it's OK for you to take some time off and walk around the Fair part of the time.
If you are interested let me know.

Bruce,

Is this a seven days a week and what are the hours we need to man the booth?

Bruce,

Is this a seven days a week and what are the hours we need to man the booth?

Yes, it is every day for 17 days. The fair is open from 10:00 to 10:00. We do not man the booth the entire day. If possible we like to have someone there from about noon to about 7:00. After 7:00 the building is pretty empty.
The booth is fixed so it can go unmaned but it is much better to have someone there to answer questions.
What I tell people is  get there by noon and stay as long as you can. If you need a break, walk away from it.
Friday Saturday and Sunday are the most important days to run the booth.
A little nervous about it because you are unsure of your self. I can be there during the day to kind of break you in. Because of personal matters though I cannot stay past about 4:00. Mike Morris can help you too for a while. He can be there most days, just not all day.
It's easy though, especial;ly if you like to B.S. :chuckle:

Karen,
You will have help Friday. Al Putske wanted to help and it is the only day he could make it.
I was there Friday for a while. Not sure if the booth is as good as last year but it still looks pretty good. Talked to a bunch of people but the weather was poor so it should pick up. Bunch of new pictures on the boards so maybe you will enjoy them.

Tough for me to drive with this medicine I''m taking so I'm try to stay away.  Trip up Friday I had to drink 8 cups coffee and basically slap myself the whole way to stay awake.

Bruce,

Been waiting for vacation approval so I could come help out. Unfortunately it was denied because of manpower issues. Sorry would have liked to have participated.

Pretty big of you to even think about traveling that far to help out. For the most part we have things covered, only the 15th and the 18th that I am still looking for help on and I have a couple of guys I can call in a pinch that have already put in time. I like to spread it out.
Thanks for trying to make time.

I would like to throw a shout out to the gentleman running the booth today around 230 PM.  I am very thankful for answers to all of my questions and showing me all the ins and outs of stretching boards both wire and wood
