Youth moose
« on: September 13, 2013, 10:02:28 AM »
Get things ready for my nephews moose hunt in mt. Spokane north. Was wondering where past guys have camped? I know you can't on the inland paper land, but does anyone know of any campgrounds close to elk/chattoroy? I think the state park is too far to camp as we will be focusing on the upper Blanchard area?
Thanks for any info folks!

Camp? :chuckle:

Drive over the day before the hunt, get a room at the local motel, get up in the morning and hit the peak, shoot a cow moose and head home. :chuckle:

I had the bull tag in there last year and I camped on Blanchard rd off of the elk chattory rd, take a right onto Blanchard rd off of the elk chat and follow it for a ways and you'll come up a small pass, at the top there is a large turn out on left hand side big enough to camp, we had 2 trucks trailer and camp trailer, with plenty of room for 8 more, worked out well with the inland gates just 1/4 mile back down the road.. its very close to the Idaho boarder once you drop over the other side within 4-5 miles any questions feel free to PM ..      good luck gonna be a great hunt youll remember forever..

my son also has the north unit and much like you, we need some help, talked to the biologist and he gave us a few choices, but I would like some more detail from whomever is willing to help. We are going to stay in our quad trailer also so we can hunt the Inland empire land, another question, is early, I mean opening day better than waiting for deer season or does it matter.
Thank you

as high as possible. Good numbers of deer on private. You could run into one on IEP but it will be crowded.
