been tough for me as well this year, i did blow a stalk with my bow in the berries, started at 7000 ft saw him at 6300 ft, 6am 2 weeks ago ran down got 80 yards and grouse jumped up only to alert bear something was up, in the end i had a 50 yard shot and he would not stay still long enough for a ethical release of my arrow. heart breaking. good luck, time will bring success. i agree put in the miles, get up high and find the right recipe be it berries etc and you will find a bear eventually. my recent trips the bears i saw were only at early and late light, odd be it that i was 5 miles out and around 6-7000 ft in el.............if anything being up in the alpine above tree line is epic and has views that give thought and memorys for a lifetime.
