i figured i won't get out for another couple weeks, but i have a couple places i would like to get up in and see if they are hitting the elderberries hard. I have been in to a couple spots in years past and seen the elderberry bushes tore up and berries gone, besides it will be cooler then.
Not seeing anything up here either. Berries are dried up. Took a 50 mile trip today and saw zilch...........

It causes a chemical change in the berries to make them edible. (non laxative) so they don't shat themselves to death. Anecdotally I believe them. Rose hips, mountain ash, chokecherries (not so much in 49), snowberries, are all good sources right now. Some hallberries and serviceberries in certain locals.
