You had to like clams to dig last night we had it all wind-rain-and a big swell. They did;nt show for us until about 6;30 and we had to pound for them there were no easy ringers. Saw where the charters canceled some trips because of weather they said 17 foot swell Monday not the kind of digging with a lantern and wondering what might be coming in. We got 9 limits but I liked it the night before when we dug in tee shirts.

The weather is holding good right now so it looks like the clamming should be good.

It was good digging again last night was fun seeing all the lanterns and flashlights. Tonight might be different it's raining and blowing pretty good here right now. When a lot of fresh water gets on the beach you don't see ringers you have to pound to get them to show so it's tougher digging for some. Bring a rain coat and maybe put a light in your car so you can find it in the dark it's hard to find your rig in the dark.

I think we're gonna just sit in the camper and watch the game t'day and cancel the on the clams unless the winds dies down about 25 knots or more. Batten down the hatches!! :chuckle:

Yes it is raining and blowing hard. No clamming for me. Going to warm up to a nice hot bowl of elk stew.

Look's like it's gonna be a go for clams as soon as the game is over as long as it stays like it is out there now.

I know it's crazy. The sun is out, no wind. I'll take it.

Clamming was excellent this weekend. Beautiful weather, nice sized clams, and 5 minute limits.

I have not been but that's a good idea. I might try it on the 17th when it gets approved.

Sled,
We hit twin harbors yesterday and the clamming was great. I brought along a pole for surf perch and caught one in about 15 min of fishing. fry'd him up for dinner. I have to say they are not my favorite. They taste fine but the meat is always soft, nothing like a good walleye fillet
