Highest Poult Survival in decades
« on: September 17, 2013, 11:56:43 AM »
I thought you guys might enjoy this.  Quantico Marine Corps Base has 47,000 acres of hunting, they have a game check station and their own game warden.  They have been keeping track of turkey poults survival on the base for several years.  Most years they average around 140 poults surviving.  This year they have over 640 poults surviving.  Why the huge upswing in survival?  The 17 year cicada hatch this spring.  Food laying on the ground every step for the poults.  :)

Maybe. You have to be able to shoot before you can eat 'em. Go Army.  :chuckle:
