Chukar populations in the state
« on: September 25, 2013, 05:22:16 PM »
I have had several conversations with several bird biologists in the Yakima and Colockum area,  they are saying a dismal year for the rock runners. Anyone hearing or seeing different?

I heard a covey chattering away while I was elk scouting last weekend in an area where I've found them for several years now. There were also 3 big coveys of quail in the same area. Seems like the quail had a good hatch, I would expect the chukars to have done well too. But I'm no bio.
Fish hard, hunt harder!
