Fishing was hot for me this morning. I went 5 for 6 today and the boat went 6 for 8. The uv purple haze hoochie and ace hi fly insert with a strip of herring kept getting lit up. Starting at 85 feet and down as deep as 140. We kept the first fish, and released 3 in the 5-7 lb range once we had 2 that were in the 9-10 lb range. The bigger fish absolutely crushed the squid and hooks were buried in the mouth and around the nose on the one. No way he was coming off, thankful for heavy leader. Things really slowed down after about 1030 for us. Biggest fish was mine at 8.93 by the time we got him weighed. Leader board showed 14.07 in 1st place when I looked. With the high wind forecast tomorrow we are playing it safe and heading for the snohomish. Fishing with a different buddy who got skunked today since he has an empty boat for tomorrow.

If purple stuff is working in the sound, would you try plunking in the river with some purple spin-n-glos?

The river was a different story. I will be fishing it going forward with Dick nites, wiggle warts and blue fox spinners for the most part. Yesterday i couldn't find anything to bite though. I don't know that the color combo was the only factor, sometimes its that particular flashers movement and presentation that makes a difference. Longer leaders or shorter, etc.
