When you trust your optics, your rifle, and have lots of practice at the range, a 150yd neck shot is a piece of cake. The one I posted a picture of was taken at 128yds, as confirmed by range finder. I had plenty of time (glassed him for over 20min) to make the decision. He was bedded down behind some downfalls. The only clean shot I had was a neck shot.  I have passed up shots on many nice 4pts due to the fact I did not have a clear shot, trees, etc.

Congrats! Nice deer. 

However, I would consider that a two point and would have never taken that deer.  I myself don't count eye guards when determining if it's a shooter.

some people may not consider it a trophy or a shooter in their eyes.
washington state considers it a shooter and in that case makes a great trophy for someone if they chose to take it.

Nice going Cruzer! That is a fine two point and definitely legal. I like to see these big mature two points taken as we do not need them spreading the two point gene anymore than they already are.

If I had a choice between someone taking a small young three or four point or a large mature legal two point I would choose the two point every time. Just my two cents

You're telling me at 150 yrds you saw that brow tine was over an inch long?  I bet you're the guy that shoots and asks questions later.  You got lucky

I've done a lot of hunting in my days my friend and I compete in 1,000yrds Benchrest through out the State and out, Believe me I wouldn't have taken the shot if I wasn't sure. Why don't you come up to eatonville for our 600yrds Benchrest competitions and I'll prove to you that at 150yrds set something thats 1 1/2" and put your money where your mouth, and see  if I can't tell that it is over an 1". You would'nt have taken the shot but that's you, you don't shoot at targets like I do at different ranges, guess you also don't believe that I can shoot a 6-7" ten shoot groups at 1000yrds either right? Since your a betting guy come to one of our matches.
