I use the restroom every day, so I can definitly tell an inch!
I've looked over the posts and comments, and after seeing the picture it's definitely an inch...what i didn't like was the fact it seemed like maybe the buck only gave CRUZER one good look before he actually shot and the only thing he noticed was big tines? After that he says he started up the hill and came to a clearing where he said he only had a head and neck shot....and then he shot. I think what really happened was the buck looked at him real quick, he glassed him, saw he was a nice thick rack. Assumed he would have eye guards or maybe didn't even notice that he wasn't even a 3. The buck then started up the hill and the first available shot he took. I'm just glad this buck was a legal buck. Congrats CRUZER nice 2pt...it'll put meat in the freezeredit:i know at 150 yds though with only a head and neck shot...i'm letting this buck walk right into next season.
When you trust your optics, your rifle, and have lots of practice at the range, a 150yd neck shot is a piece of cake. The one I posted a picture of was taken at 128yds, as confirmed by range finder. I had plenty of time (glassed him for over 20min) to make the decision. He was bedded down behind some downfalls. The only clean shot I had was a neck shot. I have passed up shots on many nice 4pts due to the fact I did not have a clear shot, trees, etc. Here is a pic of the exit wound.
NICE BUCKS and Congrats on a successful season. It's too bad your getting bombarded by the TWO POINT POLICE on here. You'll really have to worry when they all show up at your door with their Hunt-washington hats on and tape measures in hand.
hey cruzer you did exactly what every hunter needs to do identify your target make sure hes legal then make i nice kill shot.congrats on a nice deer and welcome to the site.kram and sons
