Happenstance coyote

While on my way back to the truck to retrieve the pack frames and game bags to pack out Gavins moose, I see a coyote cross the road. I speed up the atv to get closer, and as I do I see anoth coyote cross the road. I park the atv and bail off. The only rifle I have is Gavins youth 7-08 loaded with Barnes 120 TTSX. I round the corner and see one of the coyotes. I shoulder the rifle and pull the trigger, well I try anyhow, but left the safety on. The coyote takes off again, but stops once more behind a tree. All I can see is from his back down. This time with the safety off I take the shot. The coyote takes off running, but I'm real confident that I hit him. I head up the old skid trail and find the coyote behind a burm in the skid trail. The Barnes did an excellent job, but no real fur friendly.

I need you at my house, daughter saw one cross the street walking home from school yesterday. I saw it again this morning.
In Spokane. The cold weather has them on the move.
