First Bow Harvest!!
« on: September 21, 2013, 07:58:09 AM »
I am so excited to have been able to harvest this nice healthy rabbit with my bow! This is my first bow kill and so I guess it just means more. Saw this guy feeding along, knocked an arrow, settled my pin and shot, without thinking, just naturally. Hit him right at the base of the head and down he went! I couldn't believe it. Been hunting all my life with a rifle, and I guess after a while you can tend to take things for granted. Getting into archery, and harvesting my first animal, was special. Said a little prayer and thanked the animal. Notice the knife, its grandpas. He's with me on every hunt!

Very nice! Its a little different and a little more gratifying in my opinion. Small game with a bow just feels right to me
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.
