Yet another Gagger of a Blacktail hits the Dust
« on: October 27, 2008, 08:55:08 PM »
Something is definately in the air this week.  Can you believe all of the big blacktail posted in the last few days!!!!  A buddy of mine shot this buck this morning.  Isn't going to score well like a lot of the blacktails we have around here, but may no mistake, he is a big Old buck.  I'd like the naysayers over at the other site (MM) who think blacktail are the size of German Shepherds to come on here and check some of these guys out.  I wish I would have held off the trigger a little longer so I could have a shot at one of these bruisers this year

Only posted one pic.  Here is one more.  I wish I would have taken a pic of his prize sack.  It is one we'd all be jealous of!!!

Hey Bucklucky,  he actually wasn't sure if he was going to have it mounted or not.  I told him whatever he does, do not ruin that cape!!! I told him I'd be glad to come and cape it for him if needed.  If he doesn't get it mounted , i'll let you know.

That is an awesome deer.  Big Blacktails seem to be more of the norm than the exception this year.  Wow!!!

As for those MM guys.  Let them come TRY to get a monster Blackie.  They will quit as soon as they have to get wet.   :chuckle: :chuckle:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Another Monster Dropped. Congrats. I saw this pick today on my buddies camera phone, he said 21 inches tip to tip. Larry's Deer was taken in the same place and it was a piggy. There's some good mojo goin around this week.  :IBCOOL:

Firstlight, I was trying to figure out who Larry was and just put 2 & 2 together.  I used to hunt back there alot coming off the road to the South.  I took a few bucks out of there over the years but nothing the size of what was taken in there this year with Larry's, my buddies and maybe a big typical 4 x 4???  He just weighed that buck without the hide and guts and the carcass weighed 185#'s.  Said the hide weighed another 60#'s.  That's 245#'s less the guts.  That is a huge deer be it Muley or Northern Whitetail, let alone blacktail

Blacktailer

Larry drug his out with a 4wheeler and weighed it out at 280 guts and all. This is a really odd year around here, but no one is complaining.  :'(

I got a good pic I will post tonight of a nice mulie shot opening weekend around Rufus Woods from a guy I work with. :o
