Just got my pointing lab from morgans point ranch in chewelah WA
« on: September 20, 2013, 05:38:04 PM »
I went and picked up nash 2 weeks ago and now he's 8 weeks old. So far so good I was able to take him in the truck for early goose season and even though I chose not to take him out while we were hunting I took him out for the pictures after to get the scent of goose in his system. I was thinking about taking him pheasant hunting when he reaches 4 months just to take him on walks with some fun. He will be gun shot tested and accustomed by then. anyone else take there dogs hunting that soon?

Only game in town for what? Training grounds?

My only fear would be him getting spurred by a wounded pheasant at that age. However the experience could probably go along way in getting the dogs bird drive up! Not really sure but I know I can't wait to hunt my little guy(10 months 75pounds of little :P), still my little guy though! Good luck

Is he showing some natural point on birds?
