Mounting a Badger?
« on: September 20, 2013, 06:01:09 PM »
I would like to ask any of the Taxidermist on the site a couple of questions. I am planning a late winter trip to the Kuna, ID area to hunt coyotes, badgers, and fox. My first question is, are you allowed to mount a badger in Washington? I imagine you should be but I also know it is illegal to kill them here so I don't know if that effects the taxidermy side  :dunno: :dunno:. Secondly I would like to ask about a rough price estimate for a full body mount and for a rug. I would really appreciate any info you can give me.

If legally harvested in another state then you can mount it in Washington. Just make sure their not protected in Idaho.

They are not. They are open to hunting year round.

As long as the animal was legaly harvested you can have it mounted in WA.

For a rug your looking at $500.

Life Size will depend on the pose and habitat you want.  Base Price is $635.

One more point on this. You say it is not legal to kill one in WA. Not true! There is no hunting season on them in WA, however there is a trapping season for them so you can legally take badger on your trapping license in WA.

Correct. I should have specified that it is illegal to kill them while  hunting.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
