Here you go I found that Kings did a repo pic of it ... it's huge! at 421 that bull we saw at millers wont come close! ... I think momma is proud for sure but her son wont challange the non-typ WA record, I think this bull ranks #7 in the world for non-typicals!!!!!!!!

I saw a picture of the bull.  The thing looked like a large caribou.  Crazy.

I wonder if its the bull my buddy missed last season. he has one shed from this past winter that scored 213", no pics, wont let anyone barely see it. I have a general idea where its at, we will see when the pics of this bull come out.

While I was over around Kettle/Colville during the opener for deer my dad and I were feeling goofy late one morning.  We were driving out of the area and laughing about how every stump and rock began to look like an animal when I said "look at that uprooted log, looks just like a caribou!"  We laughed about it and drove on.  About an hour or so later some guy pulls up to us and asks if we had seen anything and my ol man blurts out, Yeah, saw a massive caribou up on that ridge!"  The guy gets a wide eyed look and I am sure thinking we are a couple of lunatics.  We were going to leave it at that and see if the story spread around my dad's small town of Rice, which we were not far from.  I tried really hard to keep a straight face, but the look on this guys face was priceless and I could not contain the chuckle.  He caught on and we had a good laugh about it.  He said he was going to use the same line on the next guy he talked to.

So, now there is a herd of wild caribou running around the Huckleberry range, all thanks to my dad.  Just wait, the story will spread out there.  Of course so will the story about my Dad and me being complete morons, but at least that part is true.

The escapees are from McCain-Palin campaign out getting votes...LOL.  There are lots of wierd sightings in colville..I think a few years ago a grizz was shot south of Chewelah!...

I saw the same picture two weekends ago at northport, that thing is incredible. The palmated tops look like one of those huge Canadian Rosies from the Island.

Yelp.... There are grizz in huckelberry !  I have seen 3 of them.
Not sure where exactly one was shot, but a guy killed one a few years ago that was raiding his chickens as it charged him one night or early morning.

There was a caribou north of republic last winter hangin out.

Don't laugh at me too hard...but I have seen a caribou in WA.   Of course, we would have never found them had they not had a radio collar on.

Not hard to believe. My grandpa was a gamey back in the 1950's. I think some sort of regional manager and he said that migrating caribou would go through NE washington.

I have heard that too, I hear of people seeing them every once in a while.  Would love to see them!

I highly doubt anyone ever sees them.  They are so far from roads it hurts...literally.  Also, the herd doesn't come in WA very often.  Maybe someone from the WSU research team can fill us in on what is going on, as I haven't had any updates for 10 years now on that herd...

If we head back over this weekend I'll try and get a picture of the bull elk picture we are talking about on this thread.
