Government shutdown (as related to waterfowl hunting)
« on: September 24, 2013, 02:17:05 PM »
Surprised no one has posted about the possible government shutdown.  Back in the 90's when this happened all of the Federal lands that I hunt where closed off to any access. These are some of the public areas that would be closed off to public hunting if a shutdown happens. Not good.

How would they enforce it if there is a shutdown?

I hadn't thought about those areas being shutdown.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

And the EPA is going to lock up all the air and water, too.

Don't know, but didn't want to find out the hard way when the signs said closed to all access.

LE and Life Safety (fire, med etc) are still required to work.
What's the most dangerous thing said in the US Navy? -- A Chief Petty Officer saying "Watch this s$%^!!"

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"

Back in the 90's the republicans ended up losing the war while bill got a kiss on the little head since he had Monica all alone in the white house during that shutdown and then won reelection.  Of coarse we didn't find out about Monica until after the elections but he is still a very popular former president.  Oh well.

They close it down I will be highly PO'd.  There are a lot of hard working people that work for the government including hunters like us all.  What should happen is those idiots in DC shouldn't get a freaking pay check just like all the fed employees.  Let them feel the pain.   Yes fire and LE will still have to work they just won't be paid until the start the government back up.  Same thing with the military personnel.

I don't think it will shut down.  Last time the Rs paid for it but recovered, I think they can get away with the sequester...Obama gets the credit for that, but a shut down will be all over the Rs.  Not what they need going into 2014...basically be giving 2014 and all others to the Ds.
