Core4Element, an on going review

Core4Element Ongoing Review

I am going to be doing a ongoing review of the Core4 gear I recently purchased on camofire. I got a full set of gear for under $400. I set a budget for myself of $500 so the core4 line was the best choice for my budget that I could find.

I chose the Mountain Mimicry pattern for camo.

This is my first set of technical/semi technical hunting clothing so bare with me and I hope this helps other budget hunters in the future.

Items purchased

Base layers
190 merino crew top
190 merino bottoms

Mid layer
Mid Mountain Hoodie

Outer Layer
2012 Element Pants
2013 Element Jacket

Extras
Talus belt
Assault gloves
Assault baclava

Initial thoughts
Base layers,  seem pretty soft and fit true to size as far as I can tell.

Mid mountain hoodie-very soft inside and off, silk like texture and very quiet. It's pretty thin so it will be interesting to see how warm it is. Has a nifty little pocket in the main pocket for store callings to keep warm so they don't freeze up.

Element pants, fit true to size.  I like a lot of the features on these pants. The vents on the inside of the pants are a good idea for keeping cool on the hike in and pack out. I like the elastic on the ankles to tighten around your boots, the suspenders are nice and the remove able knee pads will come in handing coyote hunting out east.

Element Jacket, fit true to size, soft inside, pockets seem to be in good spots. Doesn't seem to water resistant but time will tell.

Baclava belt and gloves fit well and top everything off nicely, size up in the gloves though. I actually like the belt so much I'm going to buy an extra next time I order something off camofire to wear daily

I will be adding a continued review through deer season on the west side, a upland trip to Montana in November, so coyote hunting here and there, and a spring turkey hunt.

Any questions please ask
