Hey every 1 going out for muzzle loader this weekend I have 2 spots I want to hunt but un sure were I want to go. The sage spot I've hunted before during modern and our group has taken a few bucks in there but be harder to get with in range or go hunt the timber were it will be closer shots but I've only drove through the area during modern but seems like camps in there always have a few bucks hanging any thoughts woukd be helpful

Of the 2 it sounds like you have knowledge of one (sage) and none of the other (timber) so i would hunt the area i know, since you have already said it holds deer and your group has taken some during modern.
Work on your stalking skills and 100yds or less will be easy to do...

two hints , windicator and skyline. hunt like your using a knife . in the timber the bucks really love to sit on spines of ridges for easy escape . open country south slopes in the morning with shaded pockets on the back sides .
