stanley steemer fills his tag or tags his fill....
« on: October 29, 2008, 03:30:08 PM »
I work in north idaho. I often enjoy watching the stateline elk herd as they range in the Rathdrum prairie/Stateline area.

This morning on the way to work just east of the stateline, the stanley steemer guy had hit a really nice bull and put him dead in the ditch. It was a real bummer to see. It was the biggest bull I had seen from this area, at least a 5 point.

By the way the, the carpet cleaner guy is gonna need a new van. I think he tagged his fill of big bull elk.

PS.  note to self.....keep camera in car at all times. sorry no pics.

Come on BigDave, this is the 21st century. You mean to tell me you are still using one of these :bash:

You make me laugh! Up until 2003? (or whenever those analog phones no longer could get service) I had one of those riding the dash of my truck. I buy things and then use them till they fall apart or service is no longer available. All my friends laughed and made fun of me.  :chuckle: I guess I could have used the camera on my "new" phone, but I would have been late for work just learning how to use it.

Laugh all you want but I used to have one of these and when a buddy and I flipped his truck on an icy I-10, 4 miles into TX from NM with wind chills down to -20F, that bad boy hit all the way into Ammarillo.

When I moved out here to WA in '99, I still had it and after some frustration, convinced the guys at AT&T it was possible to keep that phone as a secondary device on the same number as my new 'flip' phone. Again, the whopping 3 W output saved me again after a mechanical failure where no flip phone would've had the power to hit a tower.

I kind of miss not having that bad boy packed behind the truck seat for that 'just in case' scenario.
