I'm a big fan of the medium bores (over 30 caliber), so most of my guns are in great elk calibers. Here are a couple of my "elk guns" I like to use a different gun each day. That way I can rationalize each one of them. Here's my 300 RUM. The 375 BME. For when the elk are way out there. The cartridges in the picture are 6mm BR, 308, 300wsm, 338/375, and 375 BME.The 338/375 Striker. I have 2 rifles in the same caliber as well. Everybody loves the matched pair rifle/handgun!The only one I don't have a good picture of is the one I call "the Mule". That's the Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger. It is without a doubt my go to, work horse, gotta go kill stuff gun. It's the only one that's always sighted in and ready to go with a handful of 260gr Accubond handloads just sitting and waiting. I've beat the snot out of in the last few years and it's still dead on every time I shoot it. Andrew
This is what i'm using this year...Remington 700 1/7.75 twist .243
Left port on the .375 is cool.

Seen a few elk drop in their tracks from .243. Easy caliber to shoot and put the bullet right where it belongs. And quite a bit more energy than .308
