New to Washington
« on: September 30, 2013, 07:42:22 PM »
I am new to Washington, just moved here from Alaska.  I am looking for some information where I can find some public land and tips for deer season. Looking at the regs, if my house hold goods arrive in time I maybe able to get out for the rifle season or for the late archery. I am not worried about travelling for a few hours from JBLM to find an area to hunt, anything under a 4 hour drive in Alaska was considered close.

Welcome to the site! You can only do one weapon in Washington state unless you draw a multi-season tag and that application was over in June. We've got some funky regs and seasons down here so that's probably why we don't have a lot of out of state hunters knocking down the doors to get in.
There's all kinds of hunting around JBLM and around it so you won't have to go far if your so inclined to stay closer to home. Mule deer can be found a few hours over I-90, blacktail over here on the west side, and whitetail further east on I-90.
Don't be afraid to throw a few questions our way and we'll try to get you out in the right direction.

Welcome  If you live on JBLM you have hunting right out you back door. Contact the Northwest Adventure Center and they can clue you in.
