Sea Duck Taxidermist Recommendations
« on: September 30, 2013, 10:18:22 PM »
I went sea duck hunting in Alaska a few weeks ago and brought back some harlequin, surf scoters and a weird puddle duck mix breed (appears to have shoveler characteristics). I'd like to take them to a bird taxidermist to see if they would be good mount prospects. Does anyone know of a somewhat taxidermist local to the Puyallup area? Thank you for any advice in advance! I have never mounted birds before and I'm not having much luck with online research.

John Nabb @ Willow Creek Taxidermy in Colville WA!  He goes by WCTaxidermy on here.  He does absolutely excellent work!

Thank you Michelle! I've seen pictures and he does great work! I was hoping to find someone a little closer to home. My friends I was hunting with in AK thought there was a bird taxidermist highly recommended in the Gig Harbor area but I haven't been able to find any info on it.

The only one I know on the Peninsula is a female that did excellent bird work (word of mouth from other taxidermists) and she is retired.

It is very easy to get the birds to him.  You can ship them to him for just a few bucks.  You will not be disappointed with his work.  I do not mount birds because I don't like doing them.  I sent him a personal bird of mine and wouldn't hesitate to send him another.

WCT all the way. I have told myself many times if I shoot any more birds that I want mounted, that they will do the work. They have done some amazing mounts and posted there stuff on here.
