Arrows, Nocks, and Headaches
« on: September 24, 2013, 10:37:03 PM »
So here's the skinny. I have 50 dollars in gift certificates to Cabelas. That is enough $ to buy to (3 packs) of Nocturnal lighted Nocks. Here's my problem, I may be the only person in the state shooting Green Label Quickstrike arrows by Quest. I can't find any info on what size nocks I need to buy. The nocks currently on my arrows have a B molded into them but I have no idea if that is a size or if its the brand of nocks. I bought a big box of nocks when I first got into archery hunting and the box is gone and  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: I don't know what size nock I need. Also thinking about trying to find a good arrow that is more common. I pay about 130 bucks for a dozen shafts so I guess switching brands shouldn't be too expensive. After a couple botched shots and broken arrows from grouse hunting and giving my brother 8 arrows to practice with I am down to just 5 arrows. I think now would be the best time to switch to gold tips or some such arrow. SO LETS HEAR SOME SUGGESTIONS.

The B stands for Bohning.  Your arrows use the standard "S" nock.  If you are thinking of switching to Gold Tip watch the overall weight.  They tend to be too light for WA hunting laws.

I swiyched to gold tip prohunters and added 50grs to the insert which gave me a 13% foc and a arrow that comes in at 470grs  so far im loving them since I shot my buck this year with only having a few days shooting them. The xt hunter is a great arrow just cheaper and not as straight

I have put many deer in the freezer with gold tip xt hunters. This year I tried the GT Kinetics xt. With a 100gr tip I am shooting 410 from a 57lb bow, over hunting weight for sure. I would use the xt hunters all year, target practice to hunting.
