Who is buying a new bow in 2009 and if so what are you getting?
« on: October 29, 2008, 05:48:47 AM »
I am thinking about it but only if the price is right as I really like my Trykon XL.

I am considering the Katera XL (need to shoot it again).  Anything else I should take a look at?

I generally like longer ATA (36" plus) and higher brace heights (7.25" or more) as I generally shoot better with a more forgiving bow.

I have the trykon xl as well, I love it but in the last 3 years hoyt has made the bows, better, lighter, more forgiving and faster...... the katera xl is sweet but the alphmax 35 is sweeter and thats what I just ordered..... go shoot one and you will see.......

Thanks.  I will make sure to shoot the alphamax before making a final decision.  I would probably give the nod to the Katera right now because it is seasoned and has been out for awhile with no significant issues.  I tend to shy away from the latest and greatest until it has proven itself even though I am sure there will be nothing wrong with it.

I doubt if I actually will buy an new one, my '04 Bowtech Patriot is still in perfect condition and I love it....BUT if I do buy a
new bow, it will be the new Bowtech Admiral.  I checked one out at Sportsman's  and the thing is incredible!

We'll get you hooked up Charlie!

As for a new bow - I will be getting a couple, but not paying for them...  :chuckle:

BowTech Sentinel and Admiral for now, I can't part ways with my Guardian though so I'll keep it around...
