Some sort of 3-piece takedown longbow for me.

Have not decided which flavor yet.

I just got new Hoyt Alphamax 32 :)

Way to go Rover, I love my Alphamax 32.  It was a little adjustment for me going from a 37 ata bow to the 32 ata of the Alphamax.

Not for me....no major improvements in speed or sound over my LX.  Shoot the Reezen lately and it offers absolutely nothing over the LX.  They can advertise what they want, but put them on a Chronograph and a sound meter.  All the BS goes away real fast.   In fact faster then the arrow speed they are claiming.

I upgraded my Martin Jaguar Magnum this year.  Got an Elite Ice (Elite is a new company here in Walla Walla).  A buddy of mine got a Trykon las year and shot a spike elk at 74 yards.  I wouldn't even have taken that shot with my Jag... so I upgraded..

Haven't set up the Elite yet, so I can't say yet how it shoots.  I know I have shot 3Ds alongside a couple of guys who have them, and a few times we had to take the target off the stand, lay it on the ground, have one guy stand on it, and 2 guys pulling to retrieve the arrow.  THat's what sold me.

I will be getting my FIRST bow ever  amongst other things for the upcoming hunting seasons. My bow is an Alpine Frontier and I really love how it shoots. Got a good price on it too.

It's not brand new but new to me. Just got a 2007 Mathews switchback. A customer of mine used it for 7 days during late Entiat last year. Killed a buck with it so it's already broken in. I sure like the way it shoots compared to my Mathews FX.

I am also thinking considering getting a new bow and have it narrowed down to a few choices. I like the Alphamax 35, Reflex Ridgeline 34, Bear Truth 2, and possibly the Bowtech Captain or Mathews Drenalin. I have heard good things about both the Hoyt and Mathews bows but not much about the Bear. Does anyone have one or shot one to know anything about it?

I shot the bear truth 2 and liked it when i was shopping for bows last year. The only thing I really know about it is that it is supposed to come with a winners choice string, which is a hundred dollars value and the bow is already a great buy.

Baseballstud I have a bear truth2, I like it, it is my first bow. I didn't do a whole lot of comparisons before I bought it but I am real happy with it. The only thing I really don't care for is the bright colors on it but they just came out with an all black model. The only thing that I have changed is the whisker biscuit for a trophy ridge fall away rest. I just had it tested and with my 428 grain arrow it was at 266 fps. I just bought my wife the diamond razor edge that is a great bow.

I was completely dead set on the Bowtech Admiral.  But I just read an article on the Hoyt Alphamax 32.  In that article the author wrote the most gleaming report I have ever read from a bow report.  So now I have to go shoot the Hoyt to see how it compares to the Admiral.  Although it is going to have to shoot alot better than the Admiral because it's $100 more expensive.  So we'll see. I'll make myfinal decision this week.
