Yep you are more correct then I am. Here is what I remembered and kinda confused.

Does private property need to be posted in Washington State in order for trespass rules to be enforced?

NO:
If the land has indications of private ownership, such as buildings, fences, or signs, you cannot go onto the land without the landowner’s or tenant’s permission.

And again though, the posting of signs does more or less eliminate the need for a warning and allows for a citation to be written on the spot. Not much different other then it cuts a viable defense as to why they were trespassing.

NO:

I think it depends on the county. Take King County for example! You can squat anywhere you want then sue for damages and file theft charges when stuff is removed by the property owner.
