No offense intended.  Could it have been a senior moment?  Could you have put them there and forgotten?  Just joking, of course.

If so, he should have pictures of himself. Now wouldn't that be quite the surprise, take the cams down, and check the sd cards, only to find that the trespasser was you, setting up cams on your pile of apples.   :o

Might not want to call law enforcement until you verify that the culprit wasn't you.  :chuckle:

Gee, this scenario really sounds like something I would do.

Personally I would pull them and leave a note on how to reach me. I ran I to this on a property I had permission to hunt. The owner asked me to bring him the cam and najl his business card to the tree. The guy came and apologized amd got his cam back. He now knows not to enter that property.

Take the cameras and leave no note.  If they contact you, it is absolutely clear they know it is private and who owns it.  Have them meet you at the S.O. to claim them, and press trespass charges.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I wanted to this up here before I did anything.  If in fact you did put them up, pm me and we will takecare of it. I dont want to embarrass a member on here. Now if its not a member..... game on

You sound like one helluva stand up guy. A stand up guy like you deserves two Primos Truth cams. You could leave a note to call you to get them back and then put the telephone number of the local gamie on it. You could do other things, like take the SD card out of one and get your picture taken by the other wiping the first on your butt. Repeat with the second. They'll find out when they take out the card and look at the pictures.

What other fun ideas are there out there? Trespassing sucks, especially when it's over an existing pile of apples.

Here you go...........

Since you already have a cam out to catch them coming and going get their pics, photo shop them up with some banners like "trespasser", save the pics back on the cards, put them back in and let them come check their cams......to be a fly on the wall when they see their own pics coming and going from a different cam and the note "trespassers beware, cops already called" across their own pic......

Do they say "Property of WDFW" on them? :chuckle: I'd check the SD cards. Mystery solved. You could possibly recognize/know who the person is.

Thanks guys..

No they dont say WDFW on them. Its funny though,  they have asked me if they can put cameras up at the top of my property to look for woodland caribou. Our family has had this land for 40+ years and never have we seen them. Grizzly bears, yes but not caribou.
Im going to check the cards tomorrow and see whats there.

Like I said. I didnt want to embarrass somebody but now I think the world qill know who they are.
Im also going to put up a serious hotwire box by the road. They dont bother the deer but the guys will remember it for awhile, especially that the ground is so wet right no.

For that I think you really need another cam on video mode to capture the moment........

Happy hunting!

I would leave a note saying they are on private property and their cameras could be retieved at so and so phone number. Then, you will have a chance for them to do the right thing, apologize for being on your property, and get their stuff back after a reminder about knowing where you are allowed.
as a landowner and a hunter I could understand that frustration that comes with someone trespassing. But I believe this solution to the problem also shows the goodside of sportsman. Whatever you do is your choice hope it has a good ending for you sir

Unfortunatelly, the actual correct thing to do is call fish and wildlife to remove the cameras. why, because if the trespasser shows up with law enforcement at your house with serial numbers or some other distinguishable proof that they are his cameras then you could get a larceny ticket while he is getting his trespassing ticket. Since Im sure he knew he was on your property I imagine he has an idea where to find his illegally placed camera when it comes up missing. Sucks, but we law abiding folks have to do the right thing even if it doesnt feel like we are getting even.
