buy a blind or build a blind? duck
« on: October 02, 2013, 02:45:40 PM »
does anyone use carry-in foldable blinds for duck hunting?  am I better off just building a blind out of natural stuff around the area?

I always brought in some camo netting and then just took natural vegetation around the area to add to it.

Depending on how far you have to go, I like just using the natural vegetation. We bring in a little hand saw and cut some sage and build a pretty nifty blind in a couple minutes.

For me it's all dependent on where the hunt will take place.  if there is enough vegetation to build a quick natural blind I would choose that over packing out a blind.  Some times those layouts are more of a pain than a benefit.

A natural blind will always be better.  I mean... if you were a duck, and you saw some wierd square object sticking out, wouldn't it look odd to you?

Natural blind. I always carry a folding saw, sheers and and a very small set of loppers in my blind bag.

Just saw this on another forum, would this fit in a boat? To transport to the hunting area...
