Rimrock-road 1000 closure
« on: October 15, 2013, 08:08:36 AM »
Just curious if the road 1000 closure, back to conrad meadows, has been lifted yet.  Last I read it was closed until further notice, but because of government shutdown, there is nobody to open the road.  If it is closed, can you still walk back there or do you risk  getting a ticket from a state dept? Any info helps. Thanks guys

Last time that I was up there I talked to a Forest Service guy and he said that it would probably be closed for the season at FS 750 intersection due to the concern of washouts/landslides with the vegetation loss from the fire.  Also a portion of the Bear Mountain trail was closed at that time at the Section 3 lake trailhead. :dunno:

This is ridiculous, I spent a lot of time scouting that area AND I still have a trail camera back there.  I guess that's just the way it goes.  Im going to have to get fairly creative with my branch bull tag now.  Im thinking even more luck is going to be involved

Heading up to Rimrock Friday to set up camp.  I could use a little luck myself.  This has been a challenging year for me so I am thinking a big bull hanging in my camp will make it all better.  Good luck to you Seatown5.  I hope that you are able to get your trailcam eventually if it did not get torched.
