Mount Spokane South Bull Down
« on: October 03, 2013, 03:29:45 PM »
Left westside for Spokane Sunday, purchased IEP pass for Monday and Tuesday.  Scouted Monday, saw three cows and one small bull.  Tuesday hunt started slow with no moose until about mid-day found a cow and calf.  Watched them for awhile and the cow kept looking into the timber which made me think there might be a bull around.  Cow and calf finally feed into the timber so went to lower road and caught the bull crossing.  .300 Win Mag a 210 grain Berger VLD closed the deal at a 242 yards.  Just what I wanted, perfect "eating" bull, 36" spread, estimated 900 pounds on the hoof, 548 pounds dressed hanging weight, couldn't be happier. Great trip with my dad and a couple of close friends.  Thanks HW members for info. on access points for the unit.  Saw several other tag holders that where still after them, good luck and looking forward to your stories.

Yummy, glad you could spend it with friends and family.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

The only thing missing on this hunt was your favorite cousin.
