I believe it.  The East Coast is known for having HUGE Black Bears.

The world record weight for an American black bear is 880 pounds. This was the recorded weight of a 10.75 year-old male bear shot in North Carolina in November 1998.

A black bear was hit and killed by a car near Winnipeg Canada, in 2001. The official recorded weight was 856.5 pounds, but it is estimated that the live weight of this large male was more than 886 pounds.

An 805-pound male American black bear was shot in Manitoba Canada, and in Pennsylvania males fairly consistently reach the record weight of 800+ pounds.

The biggest wild American black bear ever recorded was a male from New Brunswick, shot in November 1972, that weighed 409 kg (902 lb) after it had been dressed, meaning it weighed an estimated 500 kg (1,100 lb) in life, and measured 2.41 m (7.9 ft) long.[46] Another notably outsized wild black bear, weighing in at 408 kg (899 lb) in total, was the cattle-killer shot in December 1921 on the Moqui Reservation in Arizona.[46] The record-sized bear from New Jersey was shot in Morris County December 2011 and scaled 376.5 kg (830 lb).[47] Even larger, the most massive black bear recorded in Pennsylvania (one of six weighing over 363 kg (800 lb) shot in the in the last 15 years in the state) weighed in at 399 kg (880 lb) and was shot in November 2010 in Pike County.[48] The North American Bear Center, located in Ely, Minnesota, is home to the world's largest captive male and female black bears. Ted, the male, weighed 431–453.5 kg (950–999.8 lb) in the fall of 2006.[49] Honey, the female, weighed 219.6 kg (484 lb) in the fall of 2007.[50]

My son's bear he shot a couple years ago was weighed at the butcher shop at 227 lbs of hanging meat which guys said would put it at a little over 400lbs and that bear in the picture is much bigger than my sons, So I would say yes on the weight it looks like a black blob or maybe he got into A-rods stash :chuckle:

Yeah he is a fatty ... I would say definitely close  Just like Michelle said ....some of the biggest bears come from the east coast ... where I grew up in Pennsylvania the average bear is a true 300 to 400 pounds ...East coast bears love Acorns and corn ...they raise hell on corn fields !

I would have to agree I've seen some bears in the corn fields in Wisconsin that would eat the bears I've seen in Washington lol a cousin of mine shot a 527 lb bear a couple years ago there.

Just watched a show the other day where a guy shot one that when it ran the gut swung back and forth like an overfed cat haha and moved in slowmo. Was supposedly a wild bear
