For where I hunt, I'd personally take my 44mag super blackhawk... But thats island deer....

I'd totally say slug gun with a scope or high viz sights.

Muzzleloader for elk ( modern, not traditional) something with a jacketed sabot
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

Me too, if you have a click it's not the gun it is you. After 30 years on a muzzy I have only had one click, I screwed up.
