Pointing lab training western wa?
« on: October 06, 2013, 12:16:49 PM »
My pup is almost 11 weeks now and was wondering if there is any pointer/lab trainers on the westside? I'm not really looking for a leave my dog for 2 months kinda training. More on the likes of a few day trips or something like that? Also I was thinking of taking him pheasant hunting with me soon after he is gunshot ready. Is that too early to get him running around the pheasant grounds?

LEAVE your pup at home for this season, not even remotely close to being old enough. For Day tripping  training since your in Bellingham I reccomend you going to the Acme Hunt Club,Jim will get you headed in the right direction and has a ton of gundog experiance(pointing and retriever/flusher,and experiance helping people to train their own dogs,he has packages for that as well,Contact # for him 595-0166.Seriously if you've never gun broke a dog before, don't think you can do it with a food bowl and starter pistol/capgun,or by taking the dog to the gunclub,It takes birds and excitement to divert the attention.Jim's got birds and has done 1000's of dogs over the course of 30+ years.
