And they were yelling racial slurs prior to the attack, according to the witnesses. This is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The article claimed he yelled something at the car, in response to something that was said by those in the car.

Now, now folks lets not jump to conclusions. After all we only here what the news wants us to. According to the news this morning the Lakewood PD arrested the poor misunderstood youths early this morning. Too bad they couldn't fit them into a body bag.

According to the account I heard, after they yelled racist slurs from the car, he told them they should have more respect for service members. That's when the attackers got out and started the problems.

"20-year-old Tevin Geike was walking with two other white soldiers along Pacific Highway SW when a group of black men drove by and shouted a racial comment toward the soldiers, the Lakewood Police Department said.

"One of the soldiers yelled back something about the suspects treating combat soldiers with disrespect," Lt. Chris Lawler said."

This is frightening and sad at the same time, I hate seeing these heartbreaking stories.. RIP to the victim and prayers to his family

This happened literally down the road from my work, and we have safety meetings once a month because this area has gotten so bad. We have homeless who sleep under our building's awning, we've found our parking lot littered with needles, there are garbage divers and aggressive people who yell just walking through the lot. It's scary to have to be armed and have pepper spray just getting into my office building in the mornings.

I take it someone didn't explain to them that he and countless others that wore and continue to wear the uniform fought and continue to fight for those same freedoms they enjoy such as freedom of speech.

Komo is reporting that three active-duty soldiers have been arrested now.. and that ALL involved (victims and suspects) are all soldiers..
