Collared Male "Spokane Res"
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:48:37 PM »
This male was killed last Saturday on the Spokane Res. It was one of the two that they had recently collared this last spring. I'm sure we'll be seeing a few more hit the dirt here as soon as their Elk season opens.

Tell them to keep up the good work.  Every tribal member should be jealous if the don't have a ceremonial wolf head dress.

Interesting how everyone is for us as tribes killing wolves and then when it comes to us managing our own ungulate game herds or other management plans we have a lot of these same people that like that were killing/managing our wolf populations are againist our other managment practices and have tons of negative/racial things to say about us "Indians". Im for managing wolves and actually tried howling some in yesterday but weird how people are ship jumpers on this forum

No, it's in the eastern third of the state which is federally delisted.

I don't believe anyone really has a problem with natives managing game on their tribes. I believe the name calling starts when the few bad apples start the slaughter on the ceded lands that are managed by wdfw. I personally have family that is Spokane Indian and I love and respect their culture and customs. I do take offense though when some ( like the abrahamson) think they can kill whatever in Montana and then lie about it.......until they finally get caught. Those kind of actions are what set people off. :twocents:

Not trying to derail the thread I apologize for that but just find it funny is all. Shouldn't poachers, regardless or race or gender, be classified in the same category? I also believe we have the right to defend our actions as our ancestors never had boundaries and were told where to hunt but I also understand times have changed and regulations need to be followed. Just feel poachers are poachers and don't feel it's right to have racial posts about "Indians" and don't feel the moderators should allow it. On topic great wolf! I got a different picture and you could only see the head, this pic shows it a lot better

I like that you use the words management and managing so much in your post.  Because tribal efforts on public land are far from managed.

Comparing prey to a very destructive predator, I wouldn't call it "jumping ship". Glad to see the tribes can shoot wolves, as it may be awhile till anyone else can.

I only had head Picts too from inside a truck. I also agree that it is awesome they wolves are starting to fall.
The "indian" threads get old. There is usually a couple on the ceded lands and one or two a year about Colville's hunting seasons. Poachers are prosecuted here when they are caught, it is just never in the news.

I wonder if people realize yet, that the poachers that will end all hunting in WA were brought in by the USFWS and WDFW. I wonder if they understand we should all be on the same team. Too bad WE couldn't have gotten together sooner, we might not have such a chitty wolf plan.

I thinks it might be too late MH, people would rather talk about what's fair and what isn't, while wolves kill off what the argument is about. If people look back a few years, I said the same thing or close to it.

I guess when all is said and done, it's about who is cheating who? And that's all that Matters.

This country, which use to be Great, has turned into nose-pickers, instead of Doers! :twocents:

This male was killed last Saturday on the Spokane Res. It was one of the two that they had recently collared this last spring. I'm sure we'll be seeing a few more hit the dirt here as soon as their Elk season opens.

One out of many the USFWS have released. Good Job
