Have a branched tag for modern in Goose Priaire, just wondering how the hunting went for the archery hunters?

During Archery, it was spotty for sure, and the bugling was next to non existant. I talked this gal into coming home with me on day 7. On a more promissing note, one of my good friends had a multi season tag and headed up there last weekend. Much better response on activity and bugling. There was snow on the ground in most places as well. Should be a good season for you!

I was out the for the muzzleloader season last week. Plenty of bugling bulls around. Saw a real nice 6 point.

Cool, I have not been up there in 17 years, just wondering what the population of animals is like. I put in for the tag because I killed my first elk in there, and have always wanted to go back.

We scouted Bumping a bit this year since we were in the area. I would recommend scouting as much as possible, although maybe too late
That's a big unit with lots of Elk, but they don't just hang out in the road.

Seen 2 bulls in 6 days, we killed them both. A 6x6 and a 4x5. BUT never saw or even bumped another elk. From 5500 ft to 3500 ft nothing for sign or animals.
