Just curious.  I was raised to clean a gun every time you shot it. No matter what. No exceptions.  A gun will last forever if you treat it right.

Are we talking deep cleaning with copper remover etc? Or run a rod and patch thru? As I do a deep cleaning about once every year depending on how much shooting. But I clean with a patch after every shooting then tape the end of the barrel.

More barrels are ruined by improper cleaning than by not cleaning enough.

I don't clean until the accuracy I know they're capable of goes south.

I have a few rifles that haven't been cleaned in years.

:yeah: ill clean when accuracy falls off or if I am switching bullet brand or type. I usually wipe down the outside with oil after a day in the field tho.

I clean my gun every morning and every night. I'm weird like that.

I clean my rifle when I feel I need to, sometimes after 20 rounds, sometimes after a wet hunt. I have gone entire seasons without cleaning... usually once I get it dialed for hunting season I leave it alone unless it gets soaked or real dirty.

Depends on the gun.  2 shots max on my muzzle loader before cleaning but I'll put a couple hundred rounds or more through my trap guns before I clean them.

clean the bore and remove copper before the season , breech to muzzle only , then one foul shot before hunting , clean at the end of season .

Once I see my groups start to open up.  However I do wipe down the outside with rem oil wipes whenever I have been hunting in the rain/wet.

I give the exterior a quick wipe down whenever I handle them. The bores get cleaned when the groups start to open up.

:yeah: I have 2 Benchmarks which were cleaned after the 3 shot break in and now I just run a light oil through the bore if they're getting stored for a while. Hundreds of rounds through them and they still shoot in the .3" range. The 2 McGowens get cleaned after about 200 rounds, and the Brux at around 250 most of the time.

Rifle - After every shooting session.  A quick clean though - a patch of Hoppes, brush, Bore Snake, lightly oil and done.

Shotgun - Once before duck season, once again after.

Pistol - 1911 after every shooting session, the Glock I can't remember the last time I cleaned...
