Back from 49 Degrees!
« on: October 10, 2013, 04:58:32 PM »
Wow what a fun two weeks in the 49. I can't give away too many details because there will be a film to come soon. We saw a bunch of different bulls and I was able to call quite a few bulls within bow range for my uncle during the time we were there. Had tons of encounters, but we passed quite a few bulls. On Sunday, we spotted a good bull with a cow and debated on whether to try and make a move on him or not. After debating we decided to take a closer look. After taking in to account the lighting, two camera angles, and the perfect stalk, my uncle decided to let the arrow fly. We saw bigger bulls, but this bull was super wide. We measured him at 51 inches. An extremely fun and emotional hunt! We also were able to kill a nice bear that wondered past camp. To see the video, "like" ZG Outdoors on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page as well. We have some big plans for this film and it will explain the whole hunt perfectly as well as make you feel the emotional roller coaster we went on during this hunt!

That bear is a beauty!  I really hope to draw a moose tag before I can not hunt anymore.  So I'm always impressed with nice bulls like that one, but dang that is a beautiful bear!

He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

He drew the tag with 11 points and yes the bear was beautiful. He wasnt huge but he was super fat and had the most thick and long haired coat I have ever seen on a bear.

Very nice.  One of my uncles drew that tag and I think they are heading up tomorrow, hopefully he has an experience like yours.

Nice bull! Glad you drew.....but also jealous. I too have 16 points and watch people with less draw every year :bash:. But I am truly glad for your success
