Any advice in GMU 113 appreciated!
« on: October 11, 2013, 10:03:07 AM »
I'm an archery hunter and have to wait for late season deer/elk.  In the meantime, I still have my bear and cougar tag.

Next week, I have a friend coming over from Tacoma.  His dad will be deer hunting a Senior hunt in GMU 113.  Most of the hunting party will be hunting deer, modern firearm.  I'll be along as camp cook, guide and to set up camp...lol.  I will be carrying either my camera or my bow, during most of our hunting.  If an opportunity to stick a bear presents itself, I'll give it my best shot!

While elk hunting, earlier in the year, I saw very little bear sign, even though I was think in huckleberry country.  So now I come to you all, seeking advice!  I'd really like an opportunity to punch my bear tag but just haven't had any success so far.

Thanks so much!  As for deer, whatever you're able to offer will be thankfully accepted!  I kinda messed up by only hunting 113 for early elk/deer.  Now, come late archery, 113 is closed so I'll need to figure out a different area for my late elk/deer hunt...lol.  Working on that the past few days.

I saw half as many bears this year for some reason...
Aim small, miss small.

It's been several years since I've regularly bear hunted, at least 15 years and that was with a rifle.  Back then, I hunted 113, 117, 124 and 101.  This year, I haven't seen any bears yet and very little sign...
