the case of a non-professional wedding Photographer
« on: October 12, 2013, 10:13:14 PM »
A relative of my wife got married last spring. We were talking today when they came to visit us. They had a So-called professional photographer that they hired to do their Wedding and Reception. At the end of the day he gave them an SD card with the photos he took. He took them right out of the camera and said "here you go, do what you want with these." He did NO Editing! Just snapped photos and called it good!

I told them  to drop the disk off at my house next Saturday. I would look at the photos and if needed I would edit them and burn a DVD for them!

I mean Seriously, what the hell kind of photographer would take money for a job and only take photos without doing any editing at all?????????? I can only imagine what quality the photos he took are!

I'll do the editing for them for FREE!

I've never heard of that before!  I hope you can salvage some pics for them.

We didn't talk about what was in the contract. So I can't tell you. I do know that neither one of the couple have a computer, a card reader or the editing software, so they have never been able to see what is on the disk. :(

If I would have not had a stroke just before they got married I would have driven the 150 miles to their wedding and done the photography work for them for Free!

Heck, for my Grand Daughter when she got married I and my wife took 4,000 photos, I did all the editing and burned them DVD's for them and their families!

We will talk next weekend and I'll see what I can find out about the contract. Then I will advise them as to how to proceed with the photographer!

With ypur skills Dick, I think most have faith in your skills. And to the guy that did the photos, I hope his reputation gets spread around and he doesn't have the chance to do it to anyone else

It's more common then you think.  I got married 10 yrs ago and the photographers  were starting to do that.  It's quick and easy money for them and less work.  I hope everything works out well
