The Kid's Scored
«

My hunting buddy and good family friend who I hunt with every year brought his daughter up in hopes of getting her first buck, she shot her first deer last year witch was a doe. We set up a ground blind and put out a few apples where we saw this buck w/a ton of does the week before season opened. My Daughter and I scouted all summer into fall checking game cameras and narrowed down the spot for a ground blind. We always hunted this apply tree right on our property line with the neighbor. Well the neighbor who is an anti-hunter started giving us problems last year and not wanting to have a shot deer go onto their property we made an apply area a long ways from their line and set out a ground blind. The deer would be around all night and a morning hunt might spook the deer. So we came in the long way to the blind at 5 am opening morning. It worked. She passed up on two bucks in hopes of getting the one she wanted. In the after noon we were back in the blind by 4:30 pm. At 5 does started showing up and at 6 a legal buck showed up. She though about shooting it but waited to see who else would show up. Three more bucks showed up, 2 legal and one spike, and she knew she wanted the bigger of the three. Boy did she get buck fever bad. It took awhile for the buck to clear the other deer and percent a shot, witch gave her time to calm down and settle into the gun. She made a great heart shot and the deer went only 30 yards. My buddies daughter shot her buck around the same time but a mile away. Great time with the kids.

Congratulations. The most enjoyable hunts I have been on have been with my kids when I wasn't even hunting, just watching them and enjoying the time.
