What unit and possible hunt areas around the Spokane area?
« on: October 13, 2013, 01:00:32 PM »
I have posted one similar question before but I can be more specific now. I am hoping to do something for my dad next fall. He has always talked about wanting to go east side and go after whitetail. He gets all dreamy eyed when he talks about it. I would really like to as well, although my fancy is more set on a mulie then whitetail but would love either. I finally figured out a free place to stay. We have some friends that are now living off of Exit 272 on I90, Medical Lake/Cheney area. I have no clue where to start exactly. It would be the early modern firearm season. What unit 124? 127? 130? Areas within the units? I would like to keep it within an hour and a half drive of that place though. If anyone could share any advice of where to start I would be very thankfull and would offer what advice I have about SW WA areas I hunt. I know this season isnt even over yet but I want to make sure everything is in line ahead of time. If someone had an area they would be willing to show us around this summer I may be able to trade it for some homegrown beef. If I can swing it money wise then I want to try and get one of Bear Paw's maps. But if not I dont want that to keep us from going. I am not trying to get anyone's honey holes or anything. Just somewhere to start.

Hi Pete,

I just saw your post, and I asked a similar question earlier. The best advice I was given was the Inland Empire Paper Company. They sell passes to their land (it was $10 for a day pass). I only had a chance to get out there for one day. I saw a couple of moose (2 bulls, 1 calf, 2 cows), but no deer. Lots of sign all over the place. I only checked out their Mt. Spokane land, but I think I'll be going back again either late season or next year depending on when I can get out next. Good luck.

There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.
